Bold Obedience

BY: TERRA WAGNER

"And I pray that He would unveil within you the unlimited riches of His glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with His divine might and explosive power. Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of His love will become the very source and root of your life. Then, you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is His love! How enduring and inclusive it is! This endless love is beyond measure and transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!"

Ephesians 3:16‭-‬19

(The Passion Translation)

Here she came, dirty and depressed. I knew the minute I saw her that something was not right. She looked like life had taken its toll on her body, soul, and spirit. My heart reacted to the sight of her, but my body kept moving on with what I was doing.

It was a hot summer day two years ago, and I was on a last-minute trip to the grocery store with all my kids.

Then came that still small voice. You know, the one that my pastor is always telling me that I should obey. The voice of the Holy Spirit prompting me to invade someone's world.

I pushed past the prompting.  I had a list, people! I got all the way up to the front of the store, and I had a thought.  “Are your groceries more important than someone hearing from the God who created the universe?”

That did it!.  I couldn't argue with the thought, and yet the only message I had on my heart was that God loved her.   Why did I not feel that that was enough of a message? Have I not been impacted by God's love myself? Off I went with all my children and cold groceries.   I searched for 15 minutes and finally found her. I then approached her and told her that God loved her.  She didn't say a word. I then asked her if I could pray a blessing over her. I remember praying for her finances and asking God to reveal Himself to her….to show her how real He is.  And I asked for Him to pour out His love on her. She half smiled, said thank you and walked off. I saw no results in the message or prayer, but knew my act of obedience was complete.   Fast forward to three weeks ago.  I am at another grocery store, and I see a clean and joyful woman at the end of the aisle.  I knew I had seen her before but couldn't place where. When she saw me though, her face lit up like the fourth of July.  It hit me, it was her. I made my way to the front and casually said hi and that I was the crazy person that prayed for her a long time ago.  She looked stunned and told me, "It's not crazy what you did. It saved my life." She then proceeded to tell me that after that day her entire life flipped right side up.  Her marriage and finances were restored, and she got a new job. God had answered my prayer to a “T”.  He had invaded her world and revealed Himself in a massive way. She was beaming, and I was bawling.  How humbling to be used by God Himself.  I will never in my life shy away from sharing the love of Jesus, because I have seen first hand in my own life and in this woman's that the power of His.love cannot be contained, measured, or valued.  It is simply the glue that holds this world on its hinges.

Ladies, be bold and share the love of God with someone.  You never know what He can do with it.
